Is KIN a dating app?
No. KIN is for family-like relationships: a father or mother figure, a sibling, a grandparent, or people who feel like home. Romantic or sexual approaches break our community guidelines and lead to removal.
Is KIN therapy?
No. KIN is a place to build real relationships between equals. If you need professional support, we'll point you to trusted UK services.
Who can join?
Anyone 18 or over living in the UK. Every member's age is checked. KIN+ members also verify their identity with photo ID and a selfie and get a Verified badge, and anyone on KIN+ can choose to only see verified members.
What's the difference between Basic and KIN+?
Basic is free. You can create a profile, see basic profiles (name, age, town and what someone is looking for) and send 7 messages a day. KIN+ Verified is £9.99 a month. You get ID verification and a Verified badge, full profiles with stories, interests and answers, unlimited messaging, AI-powered matching, more filters, community spaces and events.
How does matching work?
We look at the relationship you're seeking and the one you're offering, plus age, location, interests, personality, values and availability. Over time, AI helps suggest people you might click with. It supports human connection and never replaces it.
Do I have to meet in person?
Never. Many KIN relationships stay online. If you both choose to meet, we share clear guidance for meeting safely in a public place.
Why can't I share my phone number or email?
Keeping conversations on KIN keeps everyone safer. Our moderation, reporting and blocking only work inside the app, so phone numbers, email addresses and links to other messaging apps are hidden in chat and not allowed on profiles. Take your time and build trust here first.
What if someone asks me for money?
Don't send anything, and tap Report. Nobody on KIN should ever ask you for money, gift cards or crypto. KIN flags these messages automatically and our safety team reviews them.
How many messages can I send?
Basic members can send 7 messages a day, which reset at midnight. KIN+ members get unlimited messaging.
What do I get with KIN+?
For £9.99 a month: ID verification and a Verified badge, full profiles, unlimited messaging, unlimited discovery, more connections, advanced and AI-powered matching, a "Verified only" filter, community spaces and events. Cancel any time.
